Case Study 3 - Question 4

Should government have the right to force a legitimate business to take an action that might damage its relationship with its customers? What does this imply about the action of the government and support of its citizens?

From my research, I found out that Google is an American company and every American citizen have their own rights, they call this “humans right”. Therefore, it is in every American citizen to act on their own opinion. Hence, the US government’s have no legitimate rights to force Google Company to comply to whatever they want, for instance acquiring the database.

From the question, should there be damages made to the relationship between the US government and Google Company. The answer is either yes or no, depending on the Google’s boarding committee. “Don’t be evil” is the company’s slogan, and by betraying their customers by giving their details to the US government is an act of evil.

From the case study, it shows that the government is very determined to get what they want, in any way they can possibly think of. But Google Company is a very rich organization with billionaires working behind it. Basically Google Company is like a mini country with a population of rich people with a good network with influence people around the world. For a well known lawyer, Nicole Wong to be responsible for Google’s product, Google Company must be one of the influence companies in the world.

Also, it shows that Google Company will do anything to privatize their customer’s database at any cost. It is not only because of business but good faith between them and their clients/ citizen.
